HUHA is working with the University of Auckland to re-home a number of rats who were bred for science but never used in research. They make wonderful pets and are thriving in experienced and caring homes. They make the most amazing companions - they are smart, loving and not to mention, incredibly cute! However, they sometimes take awhile to re-home so we are working to make sure they enjoy their time at the sanctuary and are nurtured and appreciated for who they are until they find their forever homes.
If you have the means you can set up a subscription to support our sanctuary rats each week, fortnight or month. This will make a big difference and means we have the capacity to help more animals.
When you sign up for ongoing support of the animals in our care you will receive a set of postcards of them as a symbol of our appreciation. Supporters who subscribe will also receive a biannual newsletter update from our small animal department and you will be invited to our very special annual supporters day so you can to meet some of our sanctuary animals.
